Sit back, relax, inhale directly into your ear canals and call us in the morning!
Canadian border partrol wasn’t too kind this time around! Word to the wise: next time you plan on travelling internationally, make sure the company you keep doesn’t have any pending drug trafficking issues!
After some pretty intense searching (no latex gloves needed thanks above!) & interrogation, only I got thru while my boy had to camp out on the stateside. Sorry homie, but we came TOO far to not go further. Had to make it to this show somehow, someway!
Now the plan was to continue trekking cross the Canadian border and highway on foot & WAY off the grid until someone picked me up and took me to the nearest town (which was either Salmo or Nelson?!?) or I ran into Droop & Nuke in the rental car heading back toward the border crossing. But with a dead phone, couldn’t call the fam with an update, so I’m hitchhiking in the amazing/beautiful Canadian outskirts amongst the black bears, big ass mooses, and mean/pissed off bees, til one of Kootenay’s good peoples (Graham The Man!) pulled up with a ice cold brew & sum of that good good medicine, and was kind enough to take me as far as Salmo.
Droop & Nuke had to go ahead without me, so missed the show by that time, and couldn’t hitch any further, Decided to hold up in a Pub/Hotel until morning, when finally met up with the Black Love fam. Heard they had a blast and did the damn thing like always they do!
Shit happens as they say, but the show must go on!
Thank YOU to Droop, Trina, Reese, Nuke, Graham, Marissa and the good peoples of the Kootenay Mountains & Salmo Pub/Hotel!
Back in the 206 now…t’was an adventure to say the least….
