“The Alive &…Well?” Tour 2010

DSCN3211

July 24th, 2010

Destination: ONEfest (Ainsworth, B.C.)

Canadian border gestapo wasn’t too kind this time around! Word to the wise: next time you plan on travelling internationally, make sure the company you keep doesn’t have any pending legal issues!

After some pretty intense searching (no latex gloves needed thanks above!)  & interrogation, got thru somehow, someway trekking cross the border on foot & off the grid, dead phone, hitchhiking in the amazing/beautiful Canadian outskirts amongst the black bears, big ass mooses, and mean/pissed off bees, til one of Kootenay’s good peoples (Graham The Man!) pulled up with a ice cold brew & sum of that good good medicine, and was kind enough to take me as far as Salmo.

Missed the show by that time, couldn’t hitch any further,  so I held up in a Pub/Hotel until morning, when finally met up with the Black Love fam. Heard they had a blast and did the damn thing like always they do!

Shit happens as they say, but the show must go on!

Thank YOU to Droop, Trina, Reese, Nuke, Graham, Marissa and the good peoples of the Kootenay Mountains & Salmo Pub/Hotel!

Back in the 206 now…t’was an adventure to say the least….

Dufon Smith a.k.a. ORB/ORBitron/ORBit

A very nice piece on my man, Dufon, also know as ORB/ORBitron.

Met Dufon around 2003 maybe, and recorded our first music collaboration in 2004, and I couldn’t be more honored or blessed to be working with an artist such as ORB. Along with his dance crew, Circle of Fire & Soulshifters, ORB embodies the true essence of an MC/Hip-Hop artist.

I’ve learned alot from Dufon about how to stay on top of your craft, remain healthy, and maintain a positive outlook on life, and basically just strive to be a good human being!

Much Respect to ORB, FREE, Circle Of Fire, Soulshifters, Beacon Skillz, and DIRTY SCIENTIFIX!

“Seattle’s Best Funk Dance Party”

May 7th, 2010

LOFI

429 Eastlake Ave.

Seattle, WA.

Was honored and blessed to be invited and spin records with the DUG team.

These dudes DIG! I mean deep. And the people responded!

The spot was packed & jumping, the dance floor felt like a trampoline!

It was a beautiful scene!

One of the funnest nights I’ve had playing music…so far.

This 60 minute mix is just a small dose of what you might have heard from me that beautiful evening.

Enjoy!

Peace/Respects to the DUG crew: DJs Greasy, David James, Christian Science, and Jon Francois Stone.

“This Is In Memory of…”

Rest In Peace to Keith Elam, known throughout the hip-hop world as Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal (GURU)

Thank You for all you’ve shared with us in your lifetime. I remember having plenty of your words get me thru some hard times, “Moment Of Truth” in particular really brought some light for me.

This “Livication” in the form of 3 instrumentals is the least I could do.

“Let’s Make A Bond To Keep This Hip-Hop Strong!”

Salute!
